Hi thanks for that.
It's not the speed or my ISP that are the issues, my ISP is very good and the speed is good too (I pay for 8mb and get around 6mb which is fine for my needs).
Since posting I have to say that I have seen an improvement. Before that I had one evening where I had no connection at all (that was not due to my ISP - it was due to the BT line) until about 10pm.
I saw that the BT Openreach vans were in the area often and I was wondering if there were some outages of service due to work they are undertaking and if anyone else had experienced that.

You'll get between 2Mbs and 7Mbs from BT depending on contention for service. Expect no better. BT only state that you will get UP TO 20 Mbs. Call BT and discuss it with them and you can experience their appalling customer service.
Not really sure why you'd need faster speeds than this though - 3-4Mbs is perfectly adequate for most people.

Not happy with my broadband only getting 5Mb at best instead of 8Mb. Tested today and predicted only 9Mb if upgraded to 20Mb

Regardless of ISP, I wondered if anyone else using a BT landline connection, is experiencing significant drop out of their internet connection in the evenings?
