HRA wishes to thank all those hardy volunteers who turned out in cold, wet, windy weather to make the Clean Up Day such a great success. Two skips were provided in which to deposit all rubbish & debris. People of all ages battled ever worsening conditions to collect an array of materials including abandoned Christmas Trees, push chairs, microwave cookers, vacuum cleaners …the list goes on. The volunteers enjoyed refreshments, sponsored and funded by Thomas Ionta Hairdresser, served up at Russell House, whilst the rain still lashed down! Special thanks to Linda Murray of HRA in particular, for organising the whole event, especially liaising with Glasgow City Council; to Ann Henderson and those who make available Russell House - a real port in a storm, Thomas Ionta for his sponsorship of the refreshments…but most of all, those of you who braved the worst May Saturday for a long time, to make your environment look and feel so much better. Thank you very much.
